Community Engaged with JOYFUL STITCH
Ponnapa engaged with residents from the Leather District and Chinatown throughout the making of the art piece. Residents shared memories of the area during the blooming of the garment industry in Boston, personal stories of their family members who were garment workers, and their visions of what could happen at the park in the future. Below are some photos from community meetings and quotes from residents.
